I just wanted to pop in tonight to share with you my new favorite picture of my daughter.  We got a new prop delivered today and had an impromptu photo shoot in the backyard.  I love many of the photos we took today but this is a new classic for my favorites folder.

For Father’s Day this year, John wanted to go play golf and take the entire family to ride along.  The weather was gorgeous so I thought it sounded fun.  We had a terrific time watching Daddy, getting some lessons, running around and playing at the creek. 

A new gift from our eldest son – made in school.

Our daughter brought him a hilarious “mad lib” style card she’d made at school.  Here is what she wrote -

My dad is 45 years old.  He weighs 10 pounds and is 7 feet tall.  His shoe size is 20.  His favorite food is oat meal and for fun he likes to play golf.  My dad is funniest when he jokes about stuff that is gross.  When my dad gets mad he sometimes gives us a beat down. {insert mommy laughing heartily here}  He sleeps 18 hours a night.  My dad is strong as a hornet and hadsome as a prince.  I love my Dad and wouldn’t trade him for any thign.  {typo is hers not mine}

I think my husband enjoyed his day and I hope all the other Dad’s out there enjoyed your day too.

That same day, I took this picture of her and Mom snuggling sweetly on a bench.

A local magazine put out a call for a cover picture for their Mother’s Day issue and I submitted that picture.  Mine was selected and it made the cover!  I finally got my hands on a copy of the magazine yesterday.

As I left the beach, I walked up the stairs and across the deck where the bride had entered.  When I got to the other side, I found her white flip flops that she’d taken off before crossing the bridge to the ceremony.  It seemed so appropriate for her to step out of her flip flops like she was stepping out of her old life preparing to cross over into her new one.  I love this picture for that.

The reception was just as beautiful – complete with many charming details.

The bride’s cousins and grandmother waited and watched patiently for the wedding party to arrive.

We traveled to the Outer Banks this past weekend to watch my niece get married on the beach.  Gorgeous!  The weather was a bit shaky in the morning but the wind settled down and the sun came out and the whole ceremony was perfect.  Perfect!  It was so easy, it could make someone think, “I could shoot weddings”.  Luckily, I know I can’t.
