One of my girlfriends was showing me her BrainQuest cards the other night and another gal pal mentioned they have them at Costco. I thought they’d make a fun summer companion around my house and in the car so I took a trip to my local Costco yesterday. They were out of the BrainQuest stuff but they had these fun workbooks.

They come in a set of two books for about $14. One book is for the kids to use during the school year next year and one is for them to use this summer to keep the information they’ve already learned from leaking out of their little heads over the summer. What’s cool is that you can start the books NOW. My kids will be in kindergarten, first and third grades next year so I purchased those sets. Included is the pre-kindergarten, the pre-first grade and the pre-third grade.

You would have thought I bought them ice cream with how excited they were about these workbooks! Each child asked if we could start in the books that day! Naturally, I said yes.
The workbook series pictured above ran from kindergarten through fifth grade – at least from what my local store had on display that day. In addition to those, they had some other supplemental workbooks.

I picked up the set on animals and crafts because that is something my kids all love. These were $11 for two. They also had some on geography, math, and a few other titles I can’t recall.
I flipped through them when I got them home and I’m pretty pleased with the purchase. If you’re interested in finding things to do during the summer – either at home in the AC while it’s too hot out to play or while your family is traveling – I think these are a good deal and worth the money.
Cheers!
